High Watermark Salo[o]n: Hayek's Houses
her ink her paper
dried weeds in snow
out my window
on my inner wall
her mudline writing
our name marsh
on our south side
graced with her
houses pumped apart
a deluge lifting roofs
off rectangles
hayek's aqua agua
more happy than dirt
that was suspended
to coat our house
the way ink hovers
before a press forces
certain damage
to surface her color
a protective seal
on our new dry wall
over our same old wire
studs scoured can't
erase danger's time
submerged but shape
the way hayek cuts it
can seize the day back
fix motion in safety
houses in transport
reckless abandoned
sequenced into one
red square a soft landing
fleur-de-lis in reeds |
